Trainer
BIO
A gifted athlete, Jay was a wrestler, baseball player and all-state soccer player in high school, and participated in several intramural sports in college.
While in graduate school, Jay made a concerted effort to increase his power and strength, and consequently spent countless hours in the gym. Though he succeeded in gaining nearly thirty pounds of muscle, he knew that the results were not sustainable due to the unreasonable time commitment that his training regimen required. As he moved into the professional world of equities trading, he looked for more effective and efficient ways to maintain his fitness level, with little success.
Jay met Jim Clarry in 2007, and began training with him shortly thereafter. Jay was so impressed with his outstanding results and the efficiency of the regimen that he opted to begin training others using Jim's philosophy and methodology. He is motivated to help Persevera’s members realize their fitness goals no matter how busy they may be.
Jay received both a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Rutgers University. While studying at Rutgers, Jay was recognized as an Outstanding Citizen by the city of New Brunswick, New Jersey, for rescuing a man from a burning vehicle.
Fun Fact
Jay is all business in the studio, but when it comes to animals, he’s a big softy. As volunteer fosters with Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue, he and his wife (and their two dogs) are dedicated to hosting and training rescue dogs so that the pups may find a loving home.
